Help needed with featured content slider

Hi! We would like to put a "Featured Content" slider on our homepage. We would like the slider to appear where the "International Association" badge appears: https://www.birthandbeauty.com/ Anyway, we tried creating a Custom slider and we chose a badge photo to display and found it was scaled up to some huge size such that the image quality was severely degraded. So, what's the best way to accomplish this? Ideally, we would want the slider to consist of a badge image (similar to the badge that appears on the home page now), a caption describing the badge, and a link to the related site. If the badge could be the link that would be great. Thanks in advance!
