Header Slider Images Not Working

I have two issues with the header feature slider: (1) wouldn't display my uploads, that is, my uploaded pics show in customization area but none of my images display -the 'demo' images continue to display and (2) even the demo pics stopped ceased cycling after I installed wordpress jetpack/slideshow gallery on homepage. Issue 1 Troubleshooting: tried all the options - the only images that will show are those Demo images included with the package Issue 2 Troubleshooting: I deactivated jetpack and the original header slideshow worked again.
