Header background above Featured Slider

Hello, how can I add color or a header behind the site title and menu on my homepage? I have the Featured Slider, and the letters in the menu and title do not show well with certain photos. They need a fixed background color or plain header on the Homepage. The site is www.gabriel-diaz.com. Thanks.
