Google Verification & Other help

Hello - I am trying to verify my website www.matthewfacciolla.com and get rid of the description "A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more." when the website is searched on google.  I have entered the verification code into the ID location under Theme Options / Webmaster Tools, verified it on my host, Godaddy, and tried to enter the meta tag under the header code section.  I don't know what else to try and have been searching for solutions for days. Also, I was wondering if there was a way to bring the social media links to the top of the website (instead of putting them at the bottom in the widgets), but without the search bar that comes with it? I know how to get it to the top, but I don't want the search bar because it adds unnecessary white space to the header. If there's a way to do this, that'd be great. Any help would be appreciated.
