Frontpage and articles/ category with different Layout

Hello, i'm trying to build up a page with two different templates. My frontpage shoud have a sidebar and includes the latest articles. All other pages should use the one-colum template. Is this possible without a fixed page on front? my page is <<kaiserhh.de>> Greets Heinrich
