Formatting text on home page

I am using the Chique theme for www.maevejolene.com and I am unable to format the text under the "Hello, I'm Laura" section correctly. It will either go under the left menu bar section or it will be very narrow and the paragraph will only do a couple words per line. How can I format this to go to the left menu bar without going under it?
