Featured slider issue

Hi, We have 12 slides in the slider, but there are 24 pagination dots. When it plays it appears to be skipping the last 12, hopping back to the first. If someone clicks on one of the dots in the second batch of dots it causes the slider to disappear, seemingly dropping lower on the page. What can be done to remove the second batch of dots? They are misleading and disruptive. Thank you
