featured slider help

a couple of questions, here: How to remove the words 'featured image 1' from the centre of each image or will this not show on the live site? Is it possible to alter the size of the featured slider or is this set? On our home page we have a header media video.... is it possible to place a banner fixed image at the top of this in a thin horizontal strip please and how to do this? Unable to let you view the site currently as its not live. thanks very much
