Featured image to side, not top, makes sloppy layout

I'd like to have my featured image blog posts line up as they do in the "cover image" for the theme. The instructions for the free Create theme say "Archive Content Layout: Option to Show Excerpt(Image Top) and Show Full Content(No Featured Image)" but in the Create Theme I installed, it shows under Customizing --> Theme Options, Archive Content Layout only "Show Excerpt" and "Show Full Content(No Featured Image)." My featured images are to the left of the excerpts and they stairstep down the page. How can I get the featured image to be on the top of the excerpts of archived posts? phonesexfromtheheart.com/blog/
