featured image of different will not display properly

I'm building a site with fotografie to display paintings, site: https://www.damema.it/. On posts the paintings as featured images are cut in 1148x574px, I need to have the full painting displayed . Did not realize the strict rule, how can I modify the cutting in only height. Thanks Giovanna
