Featured Content and HTML

I am using Clean Box Pro. The featured content area no longer supports HTML. I used that to insert buttons styled with CSS. I’m not sure when this capability was removed. I’m sure it wasn’t on purpose. I think it's more user friendly to add a "read more" button for users to click on. Any suggestions on how to add html to the featured content blocks?
