Editing Header and left side menu (pictures and links)

(sorry for my english in advance !)
I'm using this theme and i try to make my personal web site.
I have already succeed to configure the header's picture but i want to insert a picture above, with a short text.
How can i insert a picture above my header's picture ? maybe with a CSS form-tag like that ?

secondly, i use a "one page" format for my website and i want to add links (to the bottom of the main page) in the left side menu, how can i add it ? (i can only add articles / pages / URL in the left side menu for the moment).
