Editing Front Page vs Home Page

Attempting to edit the Front Page on my site which seems to be different than the Home Page.  When attempting to edit the Front Page I follow Dashboard > Editor > Pages .  Under Pages the Home page is not the same as what shows when connecting to the site. How can I edit this page?  or ensure that the Home Page displays instead?
