Duplicate Featured Header Image

For each of my pages I am trying to add a featured image under page> settings> document> featured image. When i look at my published page it shows the image in the header of my website (greyed out) exactly how i want it to be, but it is also duplicating the image and showing it below my header in the top area of my page. I do not have the image placed anywhere else on the page itself or in my code. Is there anything i can do to prevent the images from duplicating. Thanks!
