Disable and Remove Search Function

I'm wondering if someone can help me not just remove the 'display' of the search box, but actually 'disable' it entirely. Site lock has detected a problem with it, and I need to fully remove it from my site even though, I've disabled it already and it can't be seen anywhere on the site. Thank you in advance!
