Customise Masthead

Hi I would like to customise the masthead so it looks like dnaclient.co.uk/SEM . The problem with this is that I used an image which has a fixed width and hence isn't responsive. How do I create this appearance and yet retain the responsive functionality? Help appreciated. Greg
