css grids built-in?

Please could you tell me if css grids are built-in? I have a problem I am trying to solve. I have a list of people I am inserting into a table and I need to be able to wrap them so they do not extend off the page. See attachment. I would ideally like to have max 6 people in a row. Any ideas how to fix this?
