Clean EducationVersion: 1.2.4 – Change to Left Menu instead of Main Column Menu

I downloaded Clean EducationVersion: 1.2.4 and set up a new site...http://58b.f40.myftpupload.com/ I like this theme, however I want a left navigation as opposed to menus listed in the top main center of pages. I looked can't seem to find this layout option. I tried to attach a screen shot, but don't know how to do that. Basically all my pages are menu items Home, Chapter 1 - The title, Chapter 2 - Emphasis and Assumptions, etc 22 pages in total. The menu displays horizontally across the page below the name of the site and the tag line. I need them to display vertically down the left side. Can you help? Thanks, Dan Watson, old retired coder.
