Changing text colour in feautured content section of home page

Hi guys, I hope someone can help me. I will most likely be buying the everest pro theme once I have finished this site to have an interface to do this. I am trying to change the colour of the featured content text on the home page. I have been trying to add my own CSS but nothing I have tried has worked so far.
