Change Font of Blog Post title and exerpt

I used a background image for my website. On the Blog Post page (http://fusingnika.com/the-looks/) the blog post title and excerpt are hard to read because the font color is too light. I would like to have a black text color and a white block behind the Blog title and blog exerpt .. how do I do that? I also want to do the same for the tags and date that are listed at the bottom.
