Change color of link

Hello, iam new to FSE templates. I have simple question: how do i change color of link, actual page or hover. Because if I open lets say footer and go to colors, link and do some changes it does not work. Maybe the whole idea of changing something is different, but it was easier to change it in custom CSS rather than this point and click option. Why is custom CSS disabled?   Thanks M.
