Change background & favicon

I am having trouble changing the background colour and favicon image I'm the Catch Box theme. I change it in the Appearance section of the dashboard and save my changes and everything appears fine until I log out of the admin panel and just view the site in a browser at which time the favicon disappears and the site reverts back to the default background colour.
