Catch Simple problems with ampersand appearing after “continue reading” in posts

Hi, I’m very new to this and am only at the loading content to my blog stage. After each new post and also in the text in the rotating header image section the option for “continue reading” appears. An ampersand sign and then a string of amp;amp;…. appears. How can I solve this please? Many thanks in advance, Teresa
