Catch Base Image Slider

I activated the image slider and choosed pages to display. Problem: The text of the pages is displayed above the image in the slider. This kills the image and the text is not readable. I find no way to deactivate the text excerpt in the image slider. This drives me completely nuts, because I can not understand this default setting. Who needs this? I have a hard time to understand why the slider can only display pages - but ok! Other template I use I can choose my images and define a link to a page or post. That makes sense. But in which image slider on the whole internet does text overlay the images??? Am I nuts or just to stupid to find the deactivation? Any help would be realy appreciated!!! I'm in troubles and lost a day. Thank you!
