Can't remove sliders, featured images,etc

Hi Sakin. I found your theme on wpsniffer but I'm trying to remove the sliders, featured images, etc. and be left with the responsive header and footer for a very simple and hopefully speedy site. (No posts, just a few pages.) I've disabled them in the customizer, tried several css snippets you've posted in this forum (plus a php edit someone pasted) to hide featured images and sliders, cleared the cache in multiple browsers, etc. but nothing will get this tiger off my screen. I'm now using a child theme (thanks to Child Theme Configurator) and wanted to ask if there's anything I may be overlooking. I wont link because it just a coming soon page now. Help.
