Can't remove a post

Hello everybody ! I've just started using your theme, and it's beautiful, thank you ! I'm new to it so I might have missed something, but I've looked everywhere including the FAQ and this forum before asking. My problem is that I suddenly had a "News" section appear on the homepage (while working on Featured Contents, if I'm not mistaken) that is the page that I'm using as Hero Content, but as a post. I can't remove it even by trashing the page and the Hero Content. Some Widgets also appeared on the right, but I removed them.
