Using High Responsive Pro / I am working with a child theme, and have the Essential Content plugin installed as well.
I would like to use my WP page editor to create home page content.
Can I disable Essential Content’s Featured Content types through the plug-in settings to allow me to manage homepage content via my page editor?January 5, 2018 at 9:39 pm #129226
You can disable essential content type plugin, this won’t affect your theme. Also, there are options in Appearance-> Customize-> Theme Options to disable each section.

Thank you, Pratik, for your quick feedback. Much appreciated.
When I used the Theme Options to disable Featured Content, it seemed to “break” my ability to edit my home page, so I was trying to determine how to successfully disable the option without creating another problem for myself.January 7, 2018 at 11:50 am #129307
When I disable essential content types, I am completely unable to edit my home page.
I get an error which reads:
“Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call the_content function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”January 7, 2018 at 11:44 pm #129335
Essential Content Type and Elementor are different plugins. I am confused to what exactly you want help with. For Elementor related issues, please contact their support forum.
For Essential content Types related issue, you can just disable it if you do not want its feature.

It seems that somehow my child theme got damaged or corrupted.
Yesterday I created a fresh child theme from High Responsive Pro v 1.5 and this has resolved the issue(s) I was having trouble with.
Thank you, Pratik.January 8, 2018 at 10:59 pm #129407
Ah ok, strange issue. Glad it is solved.
