Blog vs. News page

Using Catch Box, and am so far happy to have been able to figure out as much as I have!  I am not an HTML coder, but have a Wordpress blog and have managed web content and new site launches. On the site I'm working on (http://www.lydiasfields.com/) , I would like to have blog posts go to the News page and appear in the News listing in the sidebar menu.  How would I do that? Also, I would like to eliminate the large Leave a Reply comment box at the bottom of the page, but do not know how to do that. Thanks
