Big problem with comments

Hi! I have numerous categories and I hide comments because I wanted to put facebook comments or other comment systems. This works for some of the categories but on others there is a notice: COMMENTS CLOSED, so I'm not able to display facebook comments or any other comment system. I wonder why this is happening to a certain categories and I have no problems with others... What should I do?
