BBPress Search

The standard WordPress search on our site works with our BBPress forums but does not provide all the features that the BBPress Search shortcode provides. However, implementing the BBPress Search Shortcode within our site does not produce the correct results - it simply returns the last post added. It has been suggested that this is due to an incompatibility with the theme (Adventurous). Could this be correct and is there any solution?
