Backup before updating

I'm going to do my first theme updating. The following instruction is not clear for me: << Please note: make a backup of the Theme inside your WordPress installation folder /wp-content/themes/catch-box-pro >> Please explain what I'm supposed to do: A backup of the theme folder and store in my PC? A backup oft the theme folder and store in the same path? or anything else? Regards
