Amazon Affiliate Ad, Gridalicious Header

I am using Gridalicious (Free) and had a problem when I tried to add an amazon affiliate banner ad to the footer of the site. The first problem is the header that usually stays at the top of the page, now has a small gap between it and the top, but only on the pages of my site where I have the banner ad. It's fine on all other pages. My second problem is that when I access the site not as an admin the header works fine and the ads title is there, but the ad itself won't display.
