Alternative til "Visual Composer" ?

Hi, It seem that the plugin "Visual Composer" has created a lot of mess on my website, so I have to start over again. I have to delete everything (after saving text and pictures) and then reinstall the theme "Fotografie". Which plugin to edit my pages / create layout / design with text and pictures can you recommend? A safe (free) plugin easy to use to create nice layout like Visual Composer.. Is there any layout/design-plugin included in the theme Fotografie when downloading again?
