Adding Video to Homepage Featured Content Options

Hi, I'm trying to embed a youtube video into the Homepage Featured Content Options area. When I click to add an image it gives me the option to "insert media from another website". After I put in the required info and click "Insert into post" the image box where the path would go is empty. Is there a way to embed a video player rather than an image in this area?
