adding a HTML-tag (a verification code) in homepage

Hi, My google snippet is hacked. I am following Google Search Console in the hope to solve this problem. For this I first need to add a verification code (a HTML-tag) in the homepage. It needs to be added in the homepage, in the <head>-part, before the first <body>-part. Unfortunately I don't know where to look for this. Can you help me? Kind regards, Mark
