Add Portfolio/Project page

How do I get my portfolio samples to publish in the Projects slider? I have the Essential Projects Type and Portfolio things both on my dashboard already installed, using Clean Portfolio Pro. But, I can't get my portfolio posts to publish in the projects slider. My page is showing the template projects in a slider with my actual portfolio samples below and looks anything but clean ;). See https://www.amyspencer.co/portfolio/ for example. Thanks!! I think the problem is that I don't understand the difference.
