A posted item doesn’t show a link in the text

I have created a post entry that has a link in the text. In a preview of the post the link is present and can be followed. However when the post is displayed by a user, the text that contains the link doesn't have the link code present. Confirmed by using inspect in the browser. However if I click on the post (generally what you would do on a long post), the link is present. As this is a short post - say less than 10 words, not something a user would think to do. I would guess this is intentional, is there a way to turn it off for just post. If not, I'll have to add to the post something like, to be able to follow the link click the title of the post first. It would work, but not what I would call a gracefully solution. Hope you have a better solution or explain why and what else might be removed from a post.
