Hello, My site is mississauga4sale.com and the categories are being incorrectly cached by Google. I’ve made about 8 categories and they are all in the folder mississauga4sale.com/category but somehow Google is caching them links in the wrong folders.

One example is that Google is caching the html file 3004-3007-Absolute-Rentals.htm as mississauga4sale.com/category/rental-properties/listings/3004-3007-Absolute-Rentals.htm rather than the correct folder which should be mississauga4sale.com/listings/3004-3007-Absolute-Rentals.htm

Can you see where Google is picking up the incorrect folders?

I’ve set up the catch box theme in a folder other than the root folder, could this be the reason and is there a hack somewhere that I can edit to rectify this?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hello Mark,

Sorry our theme don’t have anything to do with Google Cache. So, you might want to consider using WordPress SEO by Yoast Plugin then correct your links and also create your sitemap with it. Then you can use Google Webmaster Tools to inform google about it.

    Sorry not in our scope.

    Regards,
    Saki

    Hi Saki,

I appreciate your answer but I think I didn’t phrase my question properly.

I have a search function for my site and nowhere is the folder with the file:

    category/rental-properties/listings/Rental-Properties/4080-Living-Arts-2101-Mississauga-City-Centre/ss/vt.htm

found yet Google is picking up this link and others like it somewhere on my site – it must be generated automatically internally from the catch box theme in the categories somewhere and not from a manually typed link.

Where could it be generated from? Am I the only person who is experiencing this in their webmaster tools crawl errors pages not found?

    Thanks
    Mark

@Mark: Hi Mark, non of the WordPress theme in WordPress.org theme repo has this ability to cache link in google. We don’t generate anything like that. That must be the link which was there is your site long time back. Form your google webmaster tool, you can request removal.
