    Hi,

currently, I (deliberately) 301 redirect my homepage to another page on the same domain: http://www.domain.com –> http://www.domain.com/page/

Problem: Now the search function won’t work. Usually, when a user tries to use internal search they are redirected to the homepage and the search term is appended to the homepage URL, e. g. http://www.domain.com/?s=searchterm.

In my case the user is redirected to http://www.domain.com/page/?s=searchterm which doesn’t work.

    What can I do?

@ttiwia: can you post in your site URL and then I can check in what is happening. When you redirect your domain to another sub-domain then you need to install WordPress there.

Okay, last try (apparently, submitting is not as easy as I thought):

The site in question is www sometimesiliketoread de
I redirect the homepage to infinitejest/.
If you search for “charles” you’re supposed to get results but instead you get a 404.

@ttiwia: This is your database issue not WordPress issue. So, when you change link you need to change it from Database as well. trying using Search and replace plugin.
