Hi, I have been battling for hours to try and change the slider images. I don’t have the theme options tab on my toolbar. Where would I then change it? I have seen if I add a featured image to the page it shows that image if I select slider image. But it only allows one featured image so I have no idea how to add more images to the slider.
I don’t have the option of adding any IDs anywhere. All I have is:
Appearance = customize = featured slider options
then under that there are two subcategories:
Featured slider settings and featured slider type. And under neither of them there is an option to add more images.
Please help.

@Leanvdm: For Catch Base Free theme slider, check out theme instructions at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-base/#featured-slider

You can see that in free version, you have option to replace that demo slider with Page Slider. For that you need to go to “Appearance => Customize => Featured Slider Options => Select Slider Type” and select “Featured Page Slider”. Then you you can select pages in Featured Page #1, Featured Page #2, Featured Page #3 and Featured Page #1. If you want more then 4, then you need to change the number in “No of Slides”. After you change the number you need to refresh your customizer then it will show you more page selector. So, it will take the selected page featured image. So, if you add 4 pages, then it will show 4 sliding image and so on.

How do I remove the page heading from the slider image of the various feature pages? I have managed to remove the excerpt, but can’t figure out how to get rid of the page name.

@Leanvdm: In free Catch Base free version, you have option to use only Featured Page Slider which will take featured image, title and text from your page. So, the only way to hide the text in the slider will be to add in the following css in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box:
#feature-slider .entry-container { display: none; }

You might also want to check out Catch Base Pro which has option to use Featured Image Slider, which you can just upload the image as per your need. There are other additional features as well, which is listed in theme instructions page at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-base-pro/

Dear Sakin,
I have spent more than three days trying to customize my site http://www.ellok.org. The main problem is the instructions for the featured slider don’t work on my site.
On the home page I have uploaded one photo but cannot get rid of the theme demo featured slider grey space underneath. How can I get rid of it?
Αlso the menus I created on the home page do not open on “sample”
As I have to show it at a meeting early on Wednesday morning your prompt answer would mean a lot to me

1. About the slider that default image. That image will be there if you don’t have featured image in those selected page/post in your slider. So, can you check this screencast at https://catchthemes.com/blog/videos-blog/video-series-adding-featured-image-wordpress-postpage/

2. If you want your sample page to be your default home, then you need to go to “Appearance => Customize => Static Front Page” and then in “Front page displays”, you need to check “A Static page”, then you need to select that sample page in “Front page”. Finally Save and Publish it.

Thank you very much Sakin for your prompt answer but I followed the instructions and could not remove the grey “default” slider placeholder with a “permalink”to the post on the sample page. To simplify things I just want to delete this grey area and the permalink. Could you pls be so kind to indicate how to do it? many thanks in advance

@kgapo: Did you add featured image in your page Ποιοί είμαστε. If not then first add that featured image in that page. After that you need to go make change anything in customizer to clear the cache and see the changes.

Sakin, I have uploaded the featured images and when I select the page in slider settings to the featured images on page, > Save > refresh – no images just text over -writing image – no featured image!

Changed back to default – an other option is how can i remove the grey text slider 1 from default slider??

@grahama: I see there is featured image in your page but the image size is small. You need to upload image size of at least Width: 1200px Height: 514px.

Thank you Sakin, in the replace image section, it does state use an image 1200 x 400! Made them bigger 1600 x 600 and added them full size as featured image and still got thee black box with text in the middle of the page rather than the image?!

Just checked and it shows the black box as the featured image instead of the skyline image that is the featured image? I have checked and the featured images are of the 2 landscapes and not the box.

I bought catch responsive PRO, in select type of slider show, I would like the posts to appear and not the pages. But unlike the pages that each one appears for me to choose, in the posts appear only Post highlighted # 1, # 2, # 3. I do not know what kind of data I have to put in these fields.

@whiteavenger80: In Featured Post # 1, # 2, #3, you need to add in Post ID. For Post ID, you can refer to plugin Catch IDs https://wordpress.org/plugins/catch-ids/

If you don’t want to add manually IDs, then you can just create category and add in posts in those category and in Slider Type you can select “Featured Category Slider”.
