Using Catch Box, and am so far happy to have been able to figure out as much as I have! I am not an HTML coder, but have a WordPress blog and have managed web content and new site launches.
On the site I’m working on (http://www.lydiasfields.com/) , I would like to have blog posts go to the News page and appear in the News listing in the sidebar menu. How would I do that?
Also, I would like to eliminate the large Leave a Reply comment box at the bottom of the page, but do not know how to do that. Thanks

For menu you can use Custom menu and can add any pages, posts, categories, in sidebar or in the any menu positions. See this for custom menu http://catchthemes.com/demo/catchbox/category/uncategorized/
For disabling the Comment box. See this http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/

Thank you for your reply.
I am still wrestling with the conceptual parameters of all of this terminology–widgets, categories, menus–and how their corresponding visual and functional pieces fit together to make the page I would like.
I have placed widget boxes for News and Photo Gallery where I would like on the right side of the page, but there seems to be no way to make their titles active links to the corresponding News and Photo Gallery page?
Also, I walked through the instructions for removing the large Leave a Comment box at the bottom of the page, but it is still there. Please advise how to remove it?
Cheers and thanks.February 5, 2013 at 10:11 am #3686SakinKeymaster@mwjohnston1: If you want the links in the Sidebar widget then you can try in Menu widgets or Links widget.
About removing the comment box what you did. As mention in this page http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/ . You need to uncheck Allow Comment in the Discussion Box in your pages.

Is that possible? Do I need a plugin? Which one?
Also, can the Featured Slider be used just for photos? If so, how so, as its edit page takes one to the list of posts…And can it be moved from directly under the header? Thank you for your patience…!

About your Photo Gallery slideshow yes you need to try in Plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ . May be you can try in NextGEN Gallery or any other plugin.

— You are using Catch Box free theme where you have option to add Featured Post Slider. You need to add in the post and then the featured image in the post. See this for instruction http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-box/ . But if you want only image then you need Featured Image slider which is there only in Catch Box Pro version.March 27, 2015 at 5:44 pm #54467MichaelMemberHi Sakin
