    Search Results for ‘I am using Catch Kathmandu Pro. My site yvonnestravel.com. I am having problem with setting my blog page. Every time I touch the front page setting Catch theme is attaching to my page instead of my post. This is actually how I want to my site to look like but I want my posts there. I know how to remove Catch display from there but how do I replace it with mine? My Travel Blog page is showing my blog one after another but I want to have like 8 of them showing. I spent hours on this and I do now know how to fix it. I am leaving Catch attachment so you can see what I mean. Also, I do not see slider option.’

    @lorencowka:
    1. To show latest post in your homepage.
    – Just go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Homepage Settings => Homepage / Frontpage Settings”
    – Then check in “Enable Latest Posts” and save changes

    2. It will show 10 latest post by default. But if you want to make that eight.
    – Just go to “Settings => Readings”
    – Then type in 8 in “Blog pages show at most” and save changes

    3. I see that you haven’t change/disable Homepage Headline Text:
    – Just go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Homepage Settings => Homepage Headline Options”
    – Then you can edit those text or disable it and save changes

    4. Same, I see that you haven’t change/disable Homepage Featured Conte:
    – Just go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Homepage Settings => Homepage Featured Content Options”
    – Then you can add in text/image or disable it and save change

    Thank you very much, it worked! I am ALMOST where I want to be. In my latest post, it shows one post at the time. Is there a possibility to show four in a row, and then another four? I want my visitors to be able to see a spectrum of posts.

    There another thing I am struggling with. I want titles of my posts to be blue not black. How can I change it? I went under Site Color Option but I am not sure which are I should change. It seems that not all areas can be changed.

    I keep working and more problems! I would like to add a feature image to my home page. I went under Homepage Feature Content Option and added pictures but the only option I see is to add to post not a page. My uploads are not going anywhere. I have to Disable Homepage Featured Content because otherwise Catch Theme’s feature images show up.
    Regarding my post above from 3:55 AM I meant latest posts, not post. These are the posts attached to my home page.
    I know a lot issues! Thank you in advance for your help!

    @lorencowka:
    1. There is no option to show post in 4 in a row. If you want to showcase it then you can use Homepage Featured Content option in Theme Options panel to show that. But this is for manual featured content, which you can add 4 in a row and any number of content.

    2. To change the title color of the post. Go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Color Options => Site Color Options” and then change “Title Color” and “Title Hover Color” as per your need and save change.

    3. For header Featured Image in your homepage, you can go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Header Featured Image Options”. Then in “Enable Featured Header Image” option check in “Homepage” and in “Featured Header Image URL”, you can either paste your image url or click on “Change Image” and upload your image from there.

    @lorencowka:
    2. It’s working fine in our server. Maybe some issue, we will check in details. For now, you can change the color code in the following css as per your need and then add it in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box:
    .entry-header .entry-title a, .entry-header .entry-title { color: #222; }
    4. Please send me your site URL so that I can check in which inactive icon you are talking about.
    5. Again which menu bar you are talking about as there are Primary, Secondary and Footer menu in our theme. So, maybe you can explain in reference with your site URL.

    I put together some remaining issues in order.
    1. Front page

    a. main menu bar (home, about me, etc) is too high

    b. In general,I would like to have this page more compact, the white spaces in between menus are too high also

    c. between main menu and secondary menu (Western USA, Eastern USA…) there is a broken link. I think it has something to do with my struggles to put a feature pictures there. I remember, I double clicked on the picture and it quickly showed in this exact area but then disappeared and never showed on my page. I kept trying to figure it out -it could be few pictures there hidden. (I figured out how to set feature images later but I do not want it there. Page is busy as it is).

    d. I like the idea of the slider but it seems taking over the entire page. i would like to make it smaller.

    2. Post title color is still black. I followed your instructions and it is still black.
    Thank you for your help!

    @lorencowka:
    1. Front Page:
    a. There is issue after you add in the search. So, you can add the following css in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.

    #header-right #header-menu .menu-item-search  { float: right; }
    #header-right #header-menu .menu-item-search p { margin: 5px; }

    b. You can add the following css in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box, to reduce the white spaces.

    #hgroup.logo-enable.logo-left {
        padding-left: 0;
        padding-top: 5px;
    }
    #header-right {
        padding-top: 5px;
    }
    #hgroup-wrap  {
        padding-bottom: 20px;
    }

    c. The broken link image is yvonnestravel.com/wp-content/themes/catch-kathmandu/images/demo/header-image-1280×400.jpg and it’s from “Appearance => Theme Options => Header Featured Image”. Go there and in “Enable Featured Header Image”, select “Disable” and save changes.

    d. You can use Featured Image Slider and upload the image as per your need. See this http://catchthemes.com/blog/videos-blog/video-series-adding-featured-image-slider/

    2. You haven’t change the color code in the CSS that I gave you. You need to change that color code before adding it in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.

    Please disregard #2. For some reason under Title color it was not picking up the number of color. I copied and pasted from another section and it took it!!!

    #1c. Worked, thanks!
    #2. Solved but you might look into it. When I was picking from the color circle it was not pulling any numbers. It would show the color but not the number. When I saved it and the went back to see if anything was saved, it was not,the box was blank. I copied and pasted from another area where the color was displayed with number in order to make it work.

    #1a & 1b did not work

    Thanks!

    @lorencowka: Ok there is missing closing } bracket in your Custom CSS. Go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box and find the following css:

    /* center Page Header */
    .entry-header .entry-title {
        text-align: center;

    Replace it with:

    /* center Page Header */
    .entry-header .entry-title {
        text-align: center;
    }

    Thanks for your help, but nothing works for issues below.I think I am following what you are telling me. When I copy your instructions, I paste into Custom CSS, save it and if it does not work, I delete it from CSS – I do not want it to be too messy. Maybe I deleted something I should not.
    No solution yet on the following:
    1. Front page
    a. main menu bar (home, about me, etc) is too high
    b. the white spaces in between menus are too high

    @lorencowka: First please fix the css I mentioned it above. There is missing closing bracket. All CSS below that css will not work if you don’t fix that.

    OK, I did. After that, I put the other two codes in and still does not work. I did not remove them. Thanks!

    @lorencowka: Still the closing bracket is missing. This code will mess up your site. Please add in the closing bracket before I send you any other css.

    Find the following css in your “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box

    /* center Page Header */
    .entry-header .entry-title {
        text-align: center;
    .entry-title, .entry-title a { color: #0637; }

    And replace it with the following:

    /* center Page Header */
    .entry-header .entry-title {
        text-align: center;
    }
    .entry-title, .entry-title a { color: #0637; }

    I did, thank you! It looks like white spaces are better now but still issue with the main menu bar. If necessary, I am willing to remove search button from there but I would like to have it on the front page. With my layout it seems that the only area available is on the top of the page but it is hardly visible there.
    You obviously noticed that I am rather clueless about all of this, so now I do not know where to go to remove search from the menu.
    I greatly appropriate your help!

    @lorencowka: What is your issue with the search. I don’t know how you have added in search in menu. As we don’t have that option in our theme.
