    Hi,

I’ve created a child theme for Simple Catch and am trying to work out how to make a parallax scroll work on the header image, where the text scrolls faster than the header and so overlaps the header. Something like in this example: http://abduzeedo.com/super-easy-parallax-effect-jquery

    Here’s a link to my site: bbigwords.com

    Thanks in advance!

@B1ngle: Sorry this theme doesn’t have Parallax effect. So, yes you have create child theme and do the custom coding or try plugin. See these plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=parallax

Yeah I made the child theme but am just confused as to how to go from there. I know I have to use layers, but I don’t know what sections in the original theme to make into these layers. Do you have any idea what I would need to do? I had a look at plugins and most of them seem to be about sliders or adding the scroll effect to individual posts and pages rather than the header…

@B1ngle: Sorry this is beyond normal free support. For this, you need to consider hiring developer. Sorry, we don’t have Parallax support.
